pure insanity...

Yes. I have reached complete insanity. I took Keith's marathon challenge back in April and surprised myself when I actually followed through with it on Saturday. The TOP of UTAH MARATHON! Keith, his dad Michael, and I made the trek up to Logan to run the race of a lifetime... (for me atleast). This was Michael's 2nd and Keith's 3rd - but the slowest they've ever run because I made them hang back with my short legs. The best news of all is... I FINISHED! 5 hours and 49 minutes later, we crossed the finish line! No, i take it back... the very best news of the day was that after burning 3,000+ calories, I really could eat WHATEVER I wanted. Weeee.

Walking it off at mile 15...
Chuggin' the Gatorade.

We did it!
...and will probably never do it again!

girls weekend out...

Jaime and I decided to take a trip to Los Angeles and visit Mrs. Southwick to wish her a happy 23rd! Even though the husbands and fiance were missed, it ended up being a pretty awesome "Girls Only" weekend that I think was much needed by all three of us! Nothing beats a trip to Disneyland, California Adventure, the beach, lots of good food, and shopping.

We arrived... the happiest place on earth.
California Adventure down the Hollywood Backlot
Just cruisin' Hollywood!
Freaked out by the workers at the Tower of Terror...
And freaked out by the ride!
Love the Teacups!
On the beach at Santa Monica Pier...
And Tilly's run-in with the Parking Pay Station at the mall. Ate her credit card. So a little man inside had to call a big man in an office somewhere to come save us. The guy almost didn't validate our $9.00 parking fee as complimentary. Thanks to Tilly's gooood looks and charming arguing skills, the guy let us go for free.
Happy 23rd, Till!

run for your life!

This summer I took on the mighty challenge of training for the Top of Utah Marathon in Logan next week - which I'm still trying to decide whether or not I'm ready to do. Out of that great challenge came a mighty miracle. My disgust and hatred towards running has blossomed into the most rewarding passion. And even if I don't drag myself thru the 26.2 miles that have been persistently staring me in the face since April, I can at least say I've gained a true love of running (as well as some ever-toning calves)!

My first race: the Salt Lake 10k
My first half marathon: the Provo River Half
And... my second half: the Salt Lake Half (with Keith's sister, Brittany!)
